Investments in global health are working.
  • Last year, the Gates Foundation launched the Living Proof Project to highlight the success of efforts to improve health in poor countries. The Living Proof Project shows that initiatives to fight AIDS and other diseases are saving & improving the lives of millions of people and, as a result, empowering them to lead more productive lives. AIDS, malaria & tuberculosis programs supported by the Global Fund have averted 6.5 million deaths worldwide. And in just 5 years, the President’s Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has helped save an estimated

  • 1.2 million lives by expanding access to HIV prevention and treatment.

The foundation is the largest non-profit contributor to the Global Fund, the recipient of (RED) funds. Their Global Health Program harnesses advances in science and technology to save lives in developing countries. Where proven tools exist, they support sustainable ways to improve their delivery. They also invest in research and development of new interventions, such as vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics.
