To date, (RED) partners and events have contributed more $200 million to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS. 100% goes to programs on the ground – no overhead is taken by either (RED) or the Global Fund. More than 14 million people have been impacted by HIV/AIDS programs supported by (RED) and the Global Fund. (RED) is the largest business sector contributor to the Global Fund.
In Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia, Global Fund (RED) grants have helped
put more than 220,000 HIV+ people on antiretroviral treatment, helped more than 130,000 HIV+ pregnant women with preventative antiretroviral treatment to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV to their babies and helped 13 million people receive HIV testing and counseling.
These efforts require sustained focus and funding in order to scale delivery of medicine to the millions more who still need access and to reach more people with prevention programs.
