ARV stands for 'antiretroviral'. Antiretroviral therapy generally consists of three drugs that suppress the HIV virus and stop the disease from progressing. On the simplest level, treatment may consist of as few as 2 pills administered daily to keep HIV at bay. The average daily cost is around 40 cents in countries that (RED) money supports.
