In June 2011, a PMTCT Task Force headed by UNAIDS and the Global Fund released a Global Plan to reduce the number of new HIV infections among children by 90% by 2015. The global plan focuses on 22 countries that are home to nearly 90% of HIV positive pregnant women who are in need of services. 21 of these 22 countries are located in sub-Saharan Africa.
