Social Media & Content Manager
Summary
(RED) is the leading cause in social – we are the first non profit to reach over 1 million followers on both Facebook and Twitter. This is a junior manager position (approx. 3 years experience) and while it is a junior role, it carries a lot of responsibility. This role will be the voice of the (RED) brand across our digital platforms – our brand values are a combination of inspiring, provocative, optimistic and smart. Working with the Chief Digital Officer, the Director of Marketing and the Design & Brand Manager, the role will require content creation (copy-writing and editorial skills a must!), executing across all our social media platforms (we need a social media junkie!), monitoring performance and constantly iterating to drive success. Success being measured by growth and engagement. This role requires passion, strong copy-writing skills, strategic thinking, creativity, comfort "getting your hands dirty" with execution and implementation. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the Social Media & Content Manager will lead the development and execution of (RED)'s social media & content strategy. This position is based in New York, NY.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop content across (RED)'s digital and social platforms
- Responsible for execution across all social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, to name just a few, as well as emerging platforms
- Create campaigns, sweepstakes and promotions that will effectively grow our social media following, community engagement and email database
- Drive growth of our digital audiences by making our content as engaging and sharable: get people talking about us!
- Work with the Director of Marketing to ensure that the (RED) website content is encouraging stickiness to increase site visits, page depth and time on site
- Work with Director of Marketing to establish metrics for success and use campaign performance and analytics to adjust strategy as necessary to achieve the greatest success
- Ideate and execute suggested social content for (RED) partners to allow them to activate around our major marketing moments with a turnkey solution
- Work with the digital team to develop the 365 content program and implement it across specific channels, as well as (RED)'s leading marketing moments such as World AIDS Day
- Drive engagement and use social to inspire people to buy (RED) products and to share (RED) to their own networks
Specific Types of Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong social media experience – we're looking for a social media junkie!
- Ideally at least 3 years of experience
- Understanding of best practices and emerging trends within the digital/social space
- Strong content/copy writing background for digital
- Creativity is a must! No idea is too big
- Experience with CMS platforms a plus
- Ability to multi task and prioritize
- Can do attitude – will do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Must be fun and passionate!
- Experience of global brands an advantage

Digital Design Intern
Responsibilities:
Work primarily with the (RED) Digital Team on a variety of design projects that include:
- Create design assets for (RED)’s digital properties – including JOINRED.com and (RED)’s social media channels
- Build highly visual and creative presentations to show (RED)’s impact and work – both on the ground in Africa and across our brand partners
- Collaborate with (RED) Business Development team to produce mock-ups and design iterations for prospective (RED) partners
Qualifications:
Candidates must have extensive graphic design experience and be able to demonstrate this through their work on websites/blogs/portfolio. Candidates must be undergraduate level students with a minimum of sophomore status or recent graduates within six months of completing their undergraduate degree.

- Assist with digital marketing, communications campaigns, and organization
- Bring graphic design knowledge to assist in creation of digital assets for (RED) properties and campaigns
- Upload content to JOINRED.com website and blog using a Content Management System
- Manage e-mail inbox of general inquiries to (RED) and respond as appropriate on an ongoing basis
- Support the (RED) team with event logistics, administrative functions, and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:

Interns are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and can work up to 35 hours per week. During the summer term, preference will be given to interns who are available to work full-time.
